A particularly fine graph


My compliments to Hannah Fairfield and the New York Times for the particularly fine graphic from February 9, 2008.

This manages to clearly show the following things for several countries:
GDP per capita (x axis)
Paper consumption per capita (y axis)
Prediction line linking Paper consumption and GDP (diagonal)
Raw amount of paper (area of circle)
Trend (color of circle)
Name of the country (text label)

That's a lot to get in the graph, yet it clear and understandable to me.
