Quagga Mussels change Lake Michigan
The arrival of zebra mussels (right) a few years ago in the Great Lakes was hailed as a great calamity, and there certainly were a lot of changes in the ecosystem. Now, without nearly as much PR, quagga mussels (left) are taking over. These aren't so visible because they live in deeper water, but are drastically changing the food chain throughout Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Here's more:
