At dawn (6:25 this morning) I was biking on a suburban road with Forest Preserve on both sides. Suddenly, a coyote runs across the road right in front of my bike, continuing into the forest on the left.
I was stunned. For one thing, I think of coyotes as shy beings who generally stay away from you. For another, if I'd hit the coyote, serious damage would be done to both the coyote and me, not to mention the bicycle.
