Xmarks: millions of users + no revenue = R.I.P.

How can you have millions of satisfied customers but go out of business?


The Xmarks (originally Foxmarks) story is here.




Basically, you can build up a user base on a free service, but eventually need to find a way to produce revenue out of it. Xmarks was never able to.


I’ll miss it, because I’m forced to use different browsers on different machines.
