Carnival Cruise ships: a disgraceful American corporation

So, not only does Carnival (the world’s largest cruise ship company) hire captains that showboat their ships aground in Italy, with the loss of 32 lives

image they also don’t pay much in the way of wages. 75 p an hour in some cases (about $1.25) – and if you don’t meet their overall standards, they take away your tips:

They also leave fishermen in trouble to die, rather than take the time to rescue them.

Cruises are supposed to be places to “get away from it all”, but Carnival seems to be trying to get away from all meaningful corporate governance.

Nope. Never taken a Carnival cruise and certainly don’t plan to take one now!
