The AP is just reporting that the Senate is backing down and will accept Burris, as I predicted when he was appointed.
Burris seems like an OK guy, as Illinois politicians go -- not the highest of praise. Plus, he's 71 so it's unclear if he'll run in 2010 or use this as a nice capstone to a career of firsts.
So, Roland, I say: "Congratulations, and GOOD LUCK!"
