I just read this comment, tacked on to one of Tyler Cowen's posts:
"Some people who do not carry insurance have no intention of using hospitals."
Just to point out the obvious, practically no one has the intention of using hospitals. Many of the people who will end up in hospitals by the end of today had no intention of using a hospital when they got up this morning. Even those who planned to go in don't look on the experience as the same thing as, say, visiting Paris.
