It was perhaps inevitable that when organic produce became more popular, industrial farming would figure out how to exploit the price differential – while actually harming the environment.
The article focuses on imported Mexican organic produce, but it’s only a short jump to see that this sort of “letter of the law” organic is probably common among US organic farms as well.
The best way? Grow your own and encourage everyone you know to do the same. :D
