Future leaders of China: why we should worry.

Jon Huntsman expressed this view in an interview with Jeff Greenfield:

 

…the emerging generation of Chinese leaders--because they were shaped not by the disasters of the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, but by enormous economic growth, they‘re likely to be more nationalistic and “hubristic,”…

This makes sense, but it’s disturbing because not only are they likely to be more nationalistic and prideful, they are also likely to be overconfident. Overconfidence is a major problem for humans in general, but probably particularly for those who have only known big success.
