A better job for a marketing modeler

A bit ago, I trashed a LinkedIn job offering.  Was I too harsh? There's another one today in the same statistical modeling area -- oddly enough from the same recruiter, Linda@BentonSearch.  So I'm posting that below. A full comparison would be long and boring, so I will just note this one is a full time job, for a stated and nice salary, and without a bunch of insulting and contradictory terms.

Director Consumer Insights & Analytics - Grocery
Up to $160k + bonus + relo
Fortune 500 CPG – Arkansas
Must be US Citizen, Green Card or PR

Reports to Head of Consumer Insights; managing group focused on Global Customer Experience – Grocery sector
This is a new position due to growth and has a small staff reporting into this role – high visibility.


Focus on this role is a superstar focused on Consumer Insights, Analytics and Grocery consulting – understanding the depth of how grocery shopping is changing for the consumer and bringing that knowledge base back to Global Customer Experience. Candidate must have a solid grocery consulting/consumer insights and analytics background– grocery consulting and cutting edge research, how the customer feels, product development, package testing knowledge and from an analytic perspective statistical modeling experience supporting this research. Seeking passionate, polished, driven leader - must have strong leadership skills.

Provides overall direction for Consumer Insights and Analytics supporting Grocery sector – very strategic in nature – high visibility to sr mgmt.

Responsibility:
Drives the business by determining areas of investigation and managing grocery insights and statistical models by determining the scope of research for key customer segments
Drives growth strategy by developing an Grocery Insights & Analytics agenda that lays the foundation for managing the brand on an on-going basis
Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
Delivers business recommendations by prioritizing daily requests for analyses based on business impact and execution difficulty
Investigates trends and themes related to associates by designing research studies to learn how to better serve and support associates; selecting vendors to conduct studies; and collaborating cross functionally.


Minimum Qualifications for the Position: (Applicants must possess all of the following to be considered.)
8 years of experience in designing, managing or directing consumer survey and analytic marketing research including 3 years supervisory experience supporting a grocery environment. Hands-on consumer insights/consumer survey research with statistical model development on CPG consumers is a “must have”.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting research within a retail grocery environment.
Bachelors Degree in Marketing Research, Statistics, Economics, or related field. Master’s Degree in Marketing Research, Statistics or Economics.
